Yes i'm Hawaiian, yes i'm Korean, yes i'm Scottish, yes i'm Irish. And you're calling me a racist? a bigot? prejudiced?

Maybe you have heard about Kamehameha Schools in Honolulu Hawaii, maybe you haven't. Apathy is the worst disease. I graduated from Kamehameha Schools class of 2005. Whats so special about my school? It only admits individuals of Hawaiian ancestry. Recently the US 9th circuit court struck down our 100+ year admission policy of only admitting Hawaiians due to the fervorous request of a non-Hawaiian, "courageously" identifed as John Doe (insert sarcasm). Well whats so special about people of Hawaiian ancestry? We are probably the smallest of the minorities, abused by the West throughly over the course of 120 years. The aim of our school was to right all the social injustices of the past by giving our people a chance at higher education, a chance at making a difference for the better. And what now? Well maybe the West isn't as anti-imperialistic as it may seem. The US courts have forced our school to open its doors and now dictates whom we must admit.

Am I angry? Yes. Will things change? Maybe. Will I forget? Never.

Maybe this may go unheard. Well, I must try.

I am proud of who I am.
Be proud of who you are.
Because at the end of the day, the only person that has to deal with you, is you.

Maybe someone will read this and say, well look'y here... another lazy angry Hawaiin. You don't know me. Don't judge me, I stand for something bigger then myself, the weight of a nation are on our shoulders. And you damn well better believe that I am proud of who I am. What major contribution will you have made before you die?
